What car has cheap insurance for a first time driver in the UK (17 years old)?
I am looking for a car that is cheap, low running costs, and low insurance (the lowest i have been quoted for any car is £3000)
but as well as it being all of these, i want it to be at least decent

Try Clio’s, Corsa’s, Polo’s maybe.
As for insurers, try Admiral, Bell and Elephant. Add your parents – or any adult with a clean licence – as named drivers. That will bring the premium down.
Don’t go down the route of getting the policy in your parents name. It’s called fronting and is illegal. You will also no gain any no claims, and will pay more in a few years time when you get your own policy and don’t have any NCB.
