How can I get an insurance license to service all 50 states?
I'm licensed to sell health, life, home & auto insurance in Florida. My website gets inquiries from all over the country. What's the best way to get a licenses so I can sell all over the country?
There is no national licensing program, to date.
You will ahve to apply to each state individually and most (if not all) do require licensing to be an practicing agent.
You will need a residence license in home state and obviously a nonresidency license in the other 49 states.
States have difference requirements.
Some states will require exams.
Some states have reciprocal agreements with others and will license a person if they hold a current license in another state.
Bonding requirements are sometimes different per state.
Personally, I know of no other person who is a licensed agent or adjuster in every state.

if you get fired, how long is health insurance from the company available?
if/ when some one gets fired, or laid off, how long is the health and dental insurance available?
I do believe there is a difference between getting laid off and being fired...
I live in California, if this matters..
Thanks, I am just trying to do some research before the company I work for has to let me go cuz they can't afford to pay anyone any longer.
If you get laid off or fired they have to offer you the COBRA coverage. Basically you pay the full amount for the insurance, not just the portion you've been paying. It's usually very expensive.
If you get laid off, ask for them to cover you for a few months. The worst they can do is say 'No'. Always ask for everything during the layoff interview. Ask for help with finding a new job, ask for health coverage, ask what kind of reference they'll give you, etc. They may keep saying 'No', but it never hurts to ask.
Good Luck!
