There are cheap health insurance plans that claim to have all the benefits at a cheap price. Some of them do have great benefits, but some are just plain lousy. Here’s how you can tell the difference:
Be Cautious of Captive Agents
Captive agents are agents that only sell for the company they are employed by. This limits them to the products sold by their employer. Most captive agents have great plans, but there are some that are selling plans with low benefit limits, and limited catastrophic coverage. If there’ a plan out there that’s better for you or your family, the agent may not know about it, and they sure don’t have any reason to tell you about it, even if they did.
If The Benefits Seem to Good to be True They Probably Are
If the price is low and the benefits are comprehensive, you have to wonder how the insurance company is staying in business by being both the price leader and coverage front-runner. Many times the reason the coverage seems great and the price seems cheap is because the insurance company has set limits on certain benefits, limiting their risk if there are major expenses. Read the fine print before you buy and ask a lot of questions.
Research the Insurance Company
“Google” the company and find out what people are saying about them. Check with your state insurance department and find out if they are on any sort of watch list. Check the Better Business Bureau to read any complaints they’ve received and find out if and how they resolved them. Find out what their financial rating is through AM Best or Standard and Poors.

Independent local agents are not only a free resource, but they are knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the local companies. They know the plans, rates, and typically have a solid birds-eye view of your local market. Best of all, they are independent and have reason to look out for your best interests. Why does our government waste so much of our tax money?
Example: we went to war in Iraq in March of 2003, there were no weapons of mass destruction, but we invaded anyway. Every day we pour more and more tax money into this war which was started under false pretences. We put casual drug users in prison for a long time, even marijuana offenders, and we, the taxpayers, have to pay for their incarceration. Not every American is interested in space travel, and it’s not a necessity, but we still have NASA. We are losing the war on drugs, it’s a waste of time, but we still have the DEA. Why can’t we take all that money and set up a public option for health care, whilst allowing private insurance firms to continue?
They did not work for the money, it is not their money so they care not how much is spent or what it is spent on. Just as, you or I if we work our a$$es off for the money we spend it wisely if someone gives it to us we spend like a drunken sailor.

Clinton supporters, can you explain the details of her contribution to Children’s Health Insurance program?
Her website says
“..her successful effort to create the SCHIP Children’s Health Insurance program which now covers six million children”

while looking for details I came across Ted Kennedy’s site

which goes into details on how he was involved in the SCHIP program.
and then saw this:

So why is it that Ted Kennedy is never mentioned when she takes credit for this program?
Could this be why Kennedy endorsed Obama rather than Clinton?
John, you haven’t answered the question at all. What exactly was her role? It was NOT as leader, clearly Kennedy was. Are all Clinton supporters just reciting the same mantra with no details? Why don’t you try researching it yourself and then let me know.
Good luck with your question . Her name will appear, but that’s about it. Ditto for New York. As NY Senator, Hillary also asked for and received 20 million dollars from the feds to assist the families of policemen and firefighters after 9/11.
But try to find exactly how Hillary was instrumental in that endeavor. You won’t find it. What you will find is Hillary turned most of that money over to CORPORATIONS to disperse the funds accordingly. Of course, there were the expected tax breaks. All legal, yes, but it’s one more instance of Hillary billing herself as a major player when she was nowhere to be found.
