Am I going to get a ticket after a week?
I hit a car at a stop light. I own a 2003 Ford Explorer and I ran into the back in of a Lexus.
I did no damage to my Explorer but the Lexus had a lot of damage to
the rear Bumper (plastic fascia) and also the trunk was dented in badly.
The man who I hit had me follow him home~ and he called the police
Then he told the police on the phone that he could not delay as he had
a flight to take to INDIA~ I exchanged my information on insurance and
talked to my insurance agent..but the man said I had to come back in
a week to talk to the police and give a report when he was back from
India.
Will I get a ticket for then? As it was my fault and I did run into the
back of his car? Well I am just curious~as I will talk more to my
insurance agent as it happened on a Saturday night. I will have to
wait until Monday to talk to my insurance man.
Any help would be appreciated as this happened in Ann Arbor Michigan
You probably aren't going to get a ticket for a fender bender. That man is being a little ridiculous. There was really no need to involve the police.
Normally, people just exchange insurance information. Your insurance costs are likely to increase, unless you have a plan with "accident forgiveness."
If the police want to talk to you, they will contact you themselves. That man cannot tell you that you need to meet him somewhere (I wouldn't just for safety reasons). He also shouldn't have made you follow him home, kinda creepy. It also doesn't really make any sense. For police reports to be filed because of an accident, usually they are done on the scene so that photos can be taken, there can be a record of witnesses, etc.
I honestly wouldn't talk to this man, and would let your insurance handle it. Like I said, if the police feel that they need to contact you, they will.

Insurance- Hit and run?
Im going to try to explain the best I can.
My girlfriends Car was parked in front of our home
We carry the state minimun Liability(ohio). A drunk man with no L's or Insurance hit totaled her car and Ran luckily he was caught an hour later. We contacted our insurance and they basically said you have to sue him etc. etc.no coverage offered. We cant aford a lawyer or anything. So i called him and asked what we could work out together outside of the court. He claimed "I have no job my son was driving its on him" Is this a good way to go about it or should i just sue him?
We have 2 children and I work out of town I need my vehicle.
Any tips would be greatly appriciated
thanks
You're going to have to sue him. And even if you win, that doesn't mean he'll pay anything. Can't get blood from a stone, ya know?
Sue the owner of the vehicle, and if he says the son was driving and gives you the info, sue the son as well. It's going to take several months at least, so I'd do something about that car this weekend.

I am a veteran Insurance Agent with an Old time Insurance Company. I have too many clients to service, and still make 4 appointements daily on the phone. I need someone who will call my leads and book appointments. Medicare knowledge helpful. I am in Washington State, also Licensed in Oregon, would like someone who is professional, easy to contact, and available from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time 3 days a week to phone for me!
Do yo provide the white patent leather shoes?
Thanks but no thanks.
