Can the Police legally tow my car away without telling me or giving me a citation?

I purchased a police car 1 month ago from San Diego, they didn't have the pink slip. The letter of sale says as soon as a replacement title is obtained from the DMV it will be certified mailed to me. When I saw the tow truck I ran outside & told them that it was my car & showed them the paper work & insurance. They said it didn't have my name on it (it does) & was not registered. When I asked them if I could park it in my drive way, they said NO the tow truck is already here. I did not rec. a citation. The San Diego PD picked it up & delivered it to me.Now there's s a terrible consistent ca-bang sound, the tow co said to have a mechanic show them that the tow truck caused it. Do I have a civil case against the officer's for towing it?

You have one against the City as well as the officer who towed the vehicle and the tow company. If you purchased it from the agency that towed it you have a case.

If you provided proof of ownership and the reasons for not having it properly tagged as the fault of the San Diego PD - the officer had a duty to inquire further with his agency in regards to the vehicle. His failure to properly perform that duty showed and demonstrated his incompetence. The officer and or his supervisor could have stopped the vehicle from being towed regardless of whether or not the wrecker arrived to take your vehicle

You should have the vehicle inspected. The exact reason or cause of the damage should be recorded on the inspection. If the inspection expert sites damage caused by the wrecker the case is stronger.

What does Florida law say about this?

I am a truck driver that lives in Florida. In mid November I took a run to Denver, CO. While I was gone some punk decided to break into my car and steal my radio and damage some leather. My car was parked on company property which is fenced in. My question is who is responsible, financially, for the damage to my car. The owner told me when I got back that he would handle it either by just paying for it or running it through his insurance. I told him that I would prefer if he just give me the money so as to avoid red tape and hassle. Ever since he has been giving me the run around. The total amount of the damage is a little over $1,100. If he is responsible then I plan on filing a civil suit, or taking it to small claims court. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

run it through you insurance co. and let them deal with the co. you work for.

Provisional drivers provide motor insurance quotes quite unlike the conventional insurers. Insurers have high rates for motor insurance, the rates being much more than what a driver in the learner's level can afford.

As learners are more prone to fatal accidents, their insurance is so expensive and also many insurance companies are quite reluctant to make their policies accessible to the learners. Various insurance schemes are available which do cover insurance for provisional drivers. Insurance for 17 year old male drivers possessing a provisional license is also available. Complete and detailed policies as well as budget third party schemes are also available.

Often learners believe that once they get through their driving examinations, their motor insurance value will decrease. This is not the case though. A learner driver under introspection has as much chance to cause accidents as does a person who has just got through his test.

Cheap car insurance for provisional drivers is available at the whole range of insurance companies in the UK. Quite a number of policies, exclusively for learners, are available. At times the insurance companies fail to provide the temporary drivers a good deal for the insurance. Sometimes they just fail to give them a proper rate.

Cheap car insurance for provisional drivers is very difficult to find. Insurance policies for people having temporary driving license is either unavailable or costly as they are considered to be very accident -prone. The particular insurance company inspects the documents and clauses placed by the license holder when he or she was insured previously in that same company and then settle on the cost.

Much though the people possessing the temporary license love to believe that their insurance costs will dramatically decrease once they get through their examination, it is definitely not so. The insurance companies look upon a driver who has just made through his or her driving test as being prone to accidents just as much as a learner. The insurance hazard is quite the same and hence cheap car insurance for provisional drivers is such a trouble to locate.
