If you have AAA auto insurance?

Have you received a rebate? I am thinking of changing my auto and home insurance to them. They are not much cheaper than my current provider so I was reluctant to change, especially my home owners as I have heard it is not wise to switch home owners insurance in California.

Anyway, the guy at AAA said they give back a rebate at the end of each year for 5%-7% of your policy cost if you do not have any tickets or accidents. I have searched to see if this is in fact true or if it is something they use to get you to sign up and then for some reason not qualify for it.

Just wondering if anyone who has the insurance has got a rebate before or if anyone has heard of this?

Thanks

AAA is an agency. They write policies for companies.

Some companies, mutual companies, WILL refund part of your premium if there are no losses on your policy.

So, get it in writing, and then you can enforce it through your state insurance commissioner.

Is there a way to get around the 30 day hold law, in California, on driving with a suspended?

I got pulled over. I asked the officer why and he answered nothing personal..... Anyways, I called the sheriff's department and the tow yard and they both said there is a 30 day hold law. Which would make my total owed to the tow yard $1,420, which might be worth more than my car. I called and left a message for the Tow Hearing Officer, is there any specific things I should tell him? I am not sure why my license was suspended. My insurance lapsed because I am waiting for my disability. I had already paid my registration fees, I just need to get insurance and smogged. Catch 22, I can't get it smogged or get insurance while the car is in the tow yard. Any suggestions on what to do or what might be a loop hole?

Consult with an attorney. Most if not all attorney's will provide you with a free consultation (free advice). This would be your best bet. I don't know CA laws so beyond that I can not be any more helpful. Obviously this other person that posted doesn't know anything about CA laws and just has too much time on his/her hands to do anything other then be a snob. Good luck!

health insurance providers california
I need help with a good health care provider in Houston.?

My parents are paying a fortune in health care insurance with Blue Cross that can not even be used for 18 months- except for emergencies. (we just enrolled, after having moved from California)
From personal experience who do you recommend, and what health care provider do you currently have?

Blue Cross is a very good company with very good plans although they are expensive. The 18 month wait is probably for pre-existing conditions only. This means if you had asthma before getting the policy you won't get any coverage for it but other problems that happen after getting the policy, such as a stomach flu, will be covered. You may want your parents to contact their agent to verify because pre-existing conditions in Texas are usually only for 12 months.

As far as finding another policy your parents should visit a local independent agent. This person can compare all the plans available in your area and can find the best plan for your situation and budget. They don't charge any extra for the service.
