Part of being a smart and financially responsible homeowner is securing home insurance coverage that does what it’s supposed to do, protect your home, but doesn’t cost you too much. Finding the right balance between great coverage amounts and low premiums is key to securing the best homeowners insurance policy possible. Use the tips described below to do just that.

1) Don’t be afraid to negotiate. Home insurance sales is a commission based business. Agents and sales people are paid on commission so the higher the rate that you agree to is, the more money they make. No matter what rate quote you are offered, it can be lower. Don’t be afraid to play a little hard ball.

2) Shop for coverage. Again, don’t be afraid to play ball. Get quotes from several different home insurance companies. Also, make sure that every agent you work with from each company knows that you are doing it. If they are aware that you are actively shopping around, the chances of getting their lowest rate offers are better.

3) Protect your home. Be proactive about the safety level of your home. Ask for a list of things that the insurance company you work with offers discounts for. Get these things and install them. Examples would be alarms systems, security doors and windows, flood lights, even a neighborhood watch program.

4) Don’t over insure or double insure. There are certain coverage options that will be offered to you in your homeowners policy that you won’t need to get because you already have it offered through a different policy. There is often overlapping coverage between your home policy and your auto, life, or health insurance policies. Make sure to know each well so that you aren’t paying for coverage twice.

health insurance exchange
Senator OBAMA : Has he changed his mind on HEALTH CARE?

Clinton would extend current federal programs, Medicare and the Federal Health Care Benefit plan, to all those now not covered by employer insurance or government-sponsored health plans.

AP
Barack Obama
——————————————————————————–

Obama would create a National Plan for those who don’t have access to group coverage, and would create a National Health Insurance exchange to promote greater insurance industry competition.

In comclusion, he seems to be more interested in helping insurance companies than the people.

Please point to something other than his website if I am wrong.

By having more insurance companies instead of the mega companies, it will create competition and lower costs. It would also mean that there would be a gov’t reinsurance plan where insurance companies will offer plans to people who have pre-existing conditions that would be partly covered by the gov’t, also contributing to lower costs.
Clintons plan is more socialized but with a hitch. It would FORCE EVERYBODY to buy health insurance. If you do not, then you will have to
a) pay a fine or
b) have it taken out of your wages automatically.
there is nothing in there which will encourage a lowering of insurance costs.
