health insurance rates

Does an employer need to give notice before increasing insurance rates?
My employer just sent me a second letter this year that my health insurance rate is increasing. The last increase was in september. I can find everywhere that the insurance co’s have to give the employers a 60 day notice for rate change. Does the employer have to give us advance notice so we can search for other alternatives?
In most cases the employer does not have to give you any notice. You can cancel your insurance any time with them. It would be recommended they did provide notice.
You should always review your options as well. In some cases, individual health plan can be less expensive than the group plan you get from your employer. If you have a pre-existing condition or poor health, the group plan is best.
