I need help with a good health care provider in Houston.?

My parents are paying a fortune in health care insurance with Blue Cross that can not even be used for 18 months- except for emergencies. (we just enrolled, after having moved from California)
From personal experience who do you recommend, and what health care provider do you currently have?

Blue Cross is a very good company with very good plans although they are expensive. The 18 month wait is probably for pre-existing conditions only. This means if you had asthma before getting the policy you won’t get any coverage for it but other problems that happen after getting the policy, such as a stomach flu, will be covered. You may want your parents to contact their agent to verify because pre-existing conditions in Texas are usually only for 12 months.

As far as finding another policy your parents should visit a local independent agent. This person can compare all the plans available in your area and can find the best plan for your situation and budget. They don’t charge any extra for the service.
