I am looking for a decent cheap quote for car insurance, I'm 18, male and my car is a 2001 Ford Fiesta Flight 3 Door 1.3L. I'm being quoted around £3000 upwards, this is my first car as ive only just passed my test on friday 6th january 2012. please give me some help, thanks.

I totally agree with the above answers.

On that car with your experience, age, gender and where you live etc... £3000 is a cheap premium. For cheap car insurance you've gotta go for something old, tatty and not a popular first car. However, you're still probably looking at £1500 upwards for even the cheapest quote!

As for buying online, I always read the small print and most smaller companies are underwritten by a big one anyway, so they aren't a scam. Well, I say that, all insurance is a scam really based on what they actually pay out compared to what they charge, but you get what I mean

Hi, Im 22 year old male from Manchester UK, Have held a full clean licence for over 4 years now, I need a car to travel to work. I have tried to find a cheap quote but my car insurance is over £3000. Just wondering does any one know of any companies that could provide me with a cheaper car insurance quote? I have tried all the insurance comparision websites. Any other suggestions? May be buy a brand new car which has free insurance? But dont know who does it now apart from peugeot where you have to be over 25. Any help will be greatly appericiated.

If you've no NCB that's about what you'll have to pay. You don't say what kind of car you're trying to insure, so maybe you could get a lower group one, but generally young drivers pay thousands for car insurance.
